Four topics of Interest popped up on the Deus Ex Youtube account today.
First, we got an 18-minute long pre-E3 gameplay demo for the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. It shows off the Prague Hub World, with some commentary on top of it as well. I will certainly be watching this in the near future, for now though some articles need creating!
Next up, the announcement of a new game mode for Mankind Divided. Called "Breach", the new mode seems to be set in a VR cybersecurity space with players attempting to infiltrate corporations like Steiner-Bisley and Versalife . Players will be able to "compare" runs of these levels, providing a sort of passive multiplayer. As far as I know, Breach appears to be separate from the plot of the main game. Breach will come bundled with all copies of Mankind Divided.
On the topic of cybersecurity, another Mobile game has been announced, Deus Ex GO . GO appears to be a sort of turn-based puzzle game, and includes the familiar Adam Jensen and Juggernaut Collective . While I am not exactly anticipating GO with baited breath, I hope this more grounded concept will work better on mobile platforms, rather than attempting to replicate the DX experience and failing .
Finally, Eidos Montreal will be partnering with Razer and Open Bionics , a prosthetics startup, to produce "fashionable robotic prosthesis accessible to a larger audience". As someone with all of their limbs intact, I doubt I will be purchasing one anytime soon, but of course this is a very exciting venture nonetheless. It would be something if a technology concieved in a game was made a reality by the very people who designed the game. Best of luck to them!
