Dr. Tony Mares is a former MJ12 scientist, working with X-51 as of the events of Deus Ex.
Biography[]
When the Vandenberg Air Force Base was attacked by MJ12, Mares locked himself in the communications building along with two technicians and another scientist. The other scientist attempted to cross through the utility tunnels to contact Gary Savage, but never made it back.

Mares will automatically approach JC Denton to inform him of the situation when JC enters the communications building. Mares will provide JC with information on how to reach Savage in the control room. Later, when JC is about to leave Vandenberg, Jock states that Mares is on his way to help Tracer Tong, who had just arrived after contracting the Gray Death.
