The Elite Edition 10mm Pistol is a variant of the Zenith CA-4 10mm Pistol and a weapon in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.

Characteristics[]

The Elite Edition pistol functions similarly to the standard pistol, but with modified features and properties:

  • The Elite Edition inflicts about 33% more damage than its regular counterpart, despite having the same nominal damage rating per upgrade level.[1]
  • Instead of an unlockable full-automatic fire mode, the Elite Edition offers an unlockable 3-round-burst fire mode.
  • Rate of fire in semi-automatic firing mode is lower.
  • Maximum range is 40 meters, slightly more than the 35 meter maximum range of the regular version.
  • The Elite Edition reloads more slowly and has a smaller magazine, even when fully upgraded.
  • The Elite Edition has higher recoil, resulting in higher bullet spread when firing in succession in semi-automatic mode.

The Elite Edition's higher per-shot damage is particularly advantageous for playstyles that focus on precise shot placement. For example, when damage is fully upgraded, a silenced Elite Edition pistol is capable of destroying a security camera in a single shot at relative close ranges, whereas a silenced standard pistol is not capable of doing so at any range. As in the case of the standard pistol, use of the silencer reduces damage per shot by about 25%.[1]

The higher per-shot damage also means that the Elite Edition is capable of dispatching enemies more easily with body shots, as compared to the standard pistol. At distances of around 30 meters, the Elite Edition is typically capable of killing unarmored enemies in one or two shots fewer than what is needed by the standard pistol. The 3-round-burst firing mode is useful in close and mid-ranges, since a single three-round burst is sufficient to kill unarmored enemies even when a silencer is equipped. Thus, the 3-round-burst firing mode enables enemies to be taken down with ease without the need for precise headshots.

On the other hand, if the pistol is to be used as a rapid-firing weapon, the Elite Edition is less suitable than the standard pistol for this purpose since it has a lower rate of fire, a smaller magazine size, and a slower reload speed, while also lacking the fully-automatic firing mode of the standard pistol.

Acquisition[]

Notes[]

  • As in the case of other elite edition weapons, the elite pistol is considered to be separate from the base weapon in terms of inventory management. Therefore, if the player intends to auto-collect ammunition from pistols dropped by enemies or otherwise found in the game environment, it would be beneficial to also carry a standard pistol in the inventory, such that any picked-up pistol is automatically discarded while their ammo is retrieved.
