A maglev train (a combination of magnetic and levitation) is a type of train that does not use wheels like traditional trains but rather, by using magnets, is able to levitate off a track while simultaneously being propelled forward. By eliminating contact with rails, a maglev train reduces its friction and therefore allows it to move at extremely high speeds, covering long distances in a fraction of the time it takes a traditional train.
As of 2027, there is a maglev line between Panama City and Costa Rica.[1] During 2029, Prague uses Motokun maglev trains at their Růžička Station.
