Madame Photographe is an Illuminati agent seen in Prague in 2029. She has an apartment unit in the Lilioma Courtyard Apartments directly west of Task Force 29's Headquarters and is readily identifiable by her bright red hair.

Biography[]

Madame Photographe has been instructed by Elizabeth DuClare to trail Alex Vega, while working in conjunction with the "Watcher" who is observing Adam Jensen.^[1] She also maintains a storage unit at her apartment complex, where photographs pertaining to her operation can be seen.

Madame Photographe can be seen passing in front of Jensen and Vega at the Růžička Station momentarily before the explosion of the bombs. Later, Vadim Orlov uses her apartment when he is in Prague to check on the status of certain assets. However, if Jensen decides to investigate the background of his experimental augmentations during The Mystery Augs, Madame Photographe kills Orlov inside her apartment as a result of Orlov having been compromised.^[2]

Later, when Prague is under Martial Law, Madame Photographe can be seen outside the L.I.M.B. clinic while Jensen and Vega are conversing inside. By this time, her apartment and storage unit have been cleared out.

Her arm augmentations are made by Isolay, according to a concept art.
Oddly, while her storage unit and apartment will be cleared out by the time Jensen returns from G.A.R.M., if one did The Mystery Augs, Orlov's body will still be in the now bloodless apartment. It is unclear why this is.

Trivia[]

"Photographe" is a French term for "photographer."
In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided game assets, Madame Photographe's 3D model is labeled "janus," and her portrait image that is seen on the log-in screen of her in-game computer is labeled "rebecca." Additionally, certain assets of the walk and talk sequence in the Růžička Station are labeled "rebecca janus." However, no usage of these names in connection with Madame Photographe appears in-game. No explicit association between her and Janus appears in-game.
